Late-Victorian Gold Floral Belcher Ring with a Rose Cut Diamond and Blue Enamel

Period: c. 1880s - 1920s late/post Victorian, Art Nouveau era;  With regard to design history, the ring reflects somewhat mid-late 1800s Japonisme in France and greater Western Europe. When considered against this backdrop, the blue becomes water, the leaves appear as stylized subtropical leaf fronds, and the carved basket serves as a simplified lotus blossom. 

Materials: approx. 14K-15K gold; blue enamel (type and method unknown)

Dimensions: the ring measures approx. 8.00 mm wide north to south; it stands 4.5 mm tall above the finger

Diamond: IGI-assessed 1.20 carat Rose Cut diamond with L color and SI1 clarity
