Period: this is a new, one-of-a-kind ring. The piece was designed with a c. late 1880s-early 1900s late-Victorian aesthetic and adorned with a French-Regal inspired fleur de lis platinum basket. It was crafted via the hand-carved-wax method, hand assembled and set, and hand engraved. The center stone was set intentionally low within the mount, helping to minimize potential snagging while being worn, but the stone was not set so low that it touches the top of the finger. The prongs were designed to be short but sturdy. The shorter length reduces their visual intrusion upon the diamond, but their heavier stature makes for a more secure stone. In short, the ring combines a markedly antique aesthetic with a sturdy architecture that is appropriate for the everyday demands of contemporary living.

Dimensions: the center stone measures 6.18 mm in diameter at its widest point; the piece stands 5.28 mm tall above the finger
Size: a hair over 5 3/4 (free sizing)
Diamond: a .99 carat Old European cut diamond (GIA assessed I color and I1 clarity via GIA eReport). Eye clean. The stone is an antique and was likely cut c. 1880s-1910s.
