Early 1900s Edwardian "Beattie & Sons" Oval Cut Sapphire, Diamond, and Platinum Ring

Period: c. 1910 - early 1930s; Edwardian 

Hallmarks: The ring is stamped “BEATTIE & SONS” — H. W. Beattie was a renowned Canadian jeweler and watchmaker who came to the United States and founded his company, H. W. Beattie & Sons, Inc., in Cleveland, OH, in 1884. 

Materials: platinum; sapphire; diamonds

Dimensions: The center stone measures 6.80 mm in length, north-to-south; the ring stands 4.1 mm tall above the finger

Size: 5 3/4 (free sizing)

Gemstones:
     Center: GIA certified 1.11 carat no-heat, transparent blue Thai oval-cut sapphire with a Brilliant Cut crown and Step Cut pavilion
     Diamonds: two rounded Old Mine Cut / early Old European Cut diamonds in the shoulders (approx. .40 ctw.); four Single Cut diamonds flanking the center stone (approx. .04 ctw.)
