Victorian Mourning Ring (London, 1844) in Gold and Black Enamel with an Oval Rose Cut Diamond

Origin: British hallmarks showing London, 1844; early Victorian era (the ring is inscribed with a name or message, but it is difficult to read)

Materials: 18K gold (stamped); black enamel; diamond

Dimensions: the face measures 10.2 mm north-to-south; the ring stands 2.5 mm tall above the finger (this is a very low-profile piece)
