Period and information: this is a newly-created piece whose design reflects c. 1880s Victorian style. The ring was crafted in 18K rose gold and bears color similarities to what’s often referred to as “antique gold,” which is to say that it is neither as bright and yellow as typical yellow gold, nor is it quite as pink as as many contemporary 14K rose gold pieces. The ring's hue is complimented by the antique Cape-colored center diamond, which was chosen specifically for this design. Regarding construction, the upper basket was hand carved from wax and then vacuum cast. The base of the basket, the shank, and the shoulder details were crafted from hand-melted and drawn wire. The entire piece is made from recycled gold.
