Antique 1.33 Carat Rose Cut Diamond in a Rare Victorian Mount

This is one of the first pieces/diamonds we're launching as part of our upcoming "Orphaned Diamonds" section. (Launch remains TBD, but we're working on it!) We acquired the ring with no center stone. Yet we loved the piece so much that we just had to have it, despite not quite knowing what to do with it. Fate asserted itself by guiding us to an equally wonderful and rare hand-shaped antique rose cut diamond. These are so hard to find!!!

We estimate the ring as hailing from c. 1900. It's a product of that stunning Belle Époque / late Victorian / Edwardian era, which was a transitional period for jewelry and fashion design. The diamond, however, is much older. We believe the diamond was cut around c. 1800-1850, if not earlier. We put the two together and fell in love instantly. We adore the play form and lilted lines created by this particular pairing, and we hope you do as well!
