Hallmark: the piece is stamped “PROUDS” and “18ct” — Prouds is an Australian jewelry company that was founded by watchmaker William James Proud in 1903. Though today Prouds sells “market friendly” jewelry items, prior to its early takeover in 1971 the company produced structurally simple yet intricately ornamented pieces that required a highly-skilled hand (as seen with this band, though we did have the outermost engraving restored).
