c. 1900 Late Victorian Low-Set Transitional Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring

Period: c. late 1800s to early 1900s; late/post-Victorian; rings of this style were the influence behind some of our own creations, which can be found in the the Victorian section, as well as in our archives. It’s a truly classic design with enough ornamentation in the upper shoulder and basket to keep it unique while maintaining aesthetic restraint.

Material: approx. 14K gold (this is markedly “antique gold” in hue, somewhere along the lines of a brassy faint rose gold)

Dimensions: the top of the ring is determined by the stone, which measures 5.90 mm at its widest point; the ring stands 4.6 mm tall—this is a particularly low solitaire

Size: 4 3/4 (free sizing—contact us for more info)

Diamond: .77 carat Transitional Cut diamond (GIA assessed as Round Brilliant; H color; VS2 clarity). The stone is inscribed with a GIA report number, but we do not have the physical report. A printed facsimile will be provided with purchase, and the digital report can be accessed through the GIA website.

We describe the stone as transitional because it displays a large culet and short pavilion facets—important, and often defining, characteristics of Transitional Cut diamonds.
