Victorian / Art Nouveau Buff Cut Garnet and Diamond Ring in Yellow and White Gold

We adore this late Victorian / Art Nouveau piece. The detailed open filigree, the mixed metals, and the color contrast contribute to the ring's ornate design. But our favorite part is the deeply colored garnet center--it's what's known as a "buff cut" stone, a sort of mix between a shallow cabochon and an sloping oval cushion cut.
