Victorian 18K Gold and Black Enamel Diamond Engagement or Anniversary Ring

Period: c. mid-to-late 1800s; Victorian

Inscription: the ring is hand inscribed, in a cursive font, “L.A.H. from A.M. Jr.”

Materials: 18K gold; black enamel; diamond

Dimensions: 7.20 mm wide across the top, north to south; the ring stands 2.65 mm tall above the finger—this is a petite, low-profile ring

Size: just shy of 6 1/4 (free sizing)

Diamond: .38 carat Old European Cut diamond with J color and SI1 clarity (GIA classifies this as a Circular Brilliant [aka Transitional], almost certainly because of the shallow angles, but it is our opinion that this is simply a very spready Old Euro.)
