c. Late 1800s Oval Sapphire and Old Mine Cut Three-Stone Ring

Period: c. mid-late 1800s; Victorian; likely European origin

Materials: 18K gold (stamped “18CT”); sapphire; diamonds

Dimensions: the piece measures approx. 9.00 mm wide across the top north to south; the culet of the center stone sticks out a bit beneath the bottom of the ring, thereby establishing the total height of the piece, which is 4.65 mm deep

Size: just shy of 6 1/4 (free sizing)

Gemstones:
    Center: GIA-assessed no-heat natural blue mixed brilliant/step cut oval sapphire; measures approx. 6.60 x 5.71 x 4.65 mm [approx. 1.37 carats]--this is a particularly lovely and vibrant sapphire
     Accents: .50 ctw., est.; two Old Mine Cut diamonds with approx. I color and SI2 clarity overall (diamonds graded in their mounting by a GIA GD--weights and grades are approximate)
