c. Late 1800s Gold Cluster Ring with a Sapphire Center and Diamond Surround

Period: c. 1880s - 1890s Victorian

Materials: 18K gold with a warm, earthy hue; sapphire; diamonds

Dimensions: the top measures approx. 10.00 mm in diameter; the ring stands approx. 6.00 mm tall above the finger

Size: between 6 and 6 1/4 (free sizing)

Gemstones:
Center: .80 ct., est; a particularly deep round mixed cut (brilliant crown, step-cut pavilion) blue sapphire—appears natural in the microscope, but origin, makeup, and treatment status cannot be determined without laboratory examination
Accents: a mix of Old Mine and Old European cut diamonds; under magnification, nearly all the stones show signs of age and wear (bruises, scratches, chips… you name it). If diamonds were cats, these wouldn’t be your prized Persians kept cooped in a Fifth Avenue penthouse. This is a motley ragtag of alley cats who rule the streets through tooth and claw. These lil’ stones got grit, and we love what they do for the ring.
