c. 1920s Gold and Platinum Cathedral Mount Diamond Ring

Period: we date the ring to c. 1920s and crafted in a late Victorian manner, though it has a touch of early 1950s Mid-Century design in there as well. It’s a style that started c. 1890s, flickered in the 1920s (this ring), and then picked up again c. 1947-1955.

Materials: 18K gold ; platinum; diamonds (the piece is stamped “18CT & PT” — the use of “CT” rather than “K” denotes European origin)

Dimensions: the ring stands 4.7mm above the finger—this piece is a good candidate for pairing alongside a traditional wedding band

Size: 6 - 6 1/4 (free sizing)

Diamonds:

Center: GIA certified .50 carat Old European Cut diamond with I color and VS1 clarity

Accents: four Old European Cut / Single Cut diamonds (.08 ctw., est)
