Period: c. 1930s Art Deco
Swiss artist, architect, and theorist Le Corbusier was a staunch advocate of straight lines and right angles. His structures and writings were highly influential in the late 1920s and 30s, and his theories came to characterize much of the era's artistic output (indeed, he was the founder of the Ars Decoratif movement, what is commonly referred to as "Art Deco"). The movement was defined, in part, by streamlined aesthetics, rational design based on the right angle, fine craftsmanship, and top-quality materials. I could go on but the point is, he would have liked this ring.
