Antique German Victorian-Era Engagement or Right Hand Ring with an Oval Rose Cut Diamond

Details: this ring could come from as early as 1884, but most likely hails from the early 1900s, Germany, just prior to WWI

Inscription: the inner shank is hand inscribed, “A. to M.”

Materials: 333 / 8K gold with a unique brass hue—note that this piece will be more prone to taking on a patina, which we love! The patina is removable via “dipping” and/or gentle polishing, but we suggest letting the ring do its thing. It’ll add contrast and a touch of moodiness to the already unmistakably antique design.

Stamps: the piece is stamped “333” within a rectangle, alongside a simplified crown within a circle. The combination of this very rare gold karat alongside the encircled crown is what led to the determination of German origin.

Dimensions: the ring measures approx. 12.75 mm across the top north to south; the ring stands 4.00 mm tall above the finger

Size: 7 3/4 (free sizing—contact us for more info)

Diamond: 1.16 carat Oval Rose Cut diamond (GIA assessed as Oval Modified Brilliant; U-V color; VVS1 clarity)
