Vintage Art Deco "Jabel" Engagement Ring with an Old European Cut Diamond Center

Period: Art Deco era (c. late 1930s - 1930s); under a microscope, the piece shows strong evidence of having been carved/pierced by hand

Materials: 18K white gold; rhodium; diamonds

Marks: the piece is stamped “18K - JARFL”; this is almost certainly a worn version of the mark JABEL, which was a prominent producer of Art Deco-era diamond jewelry, first established in 1916

Dimensions: the top of the ring measures approximately 5.5 mm north to south; the ring stands 4.9 mm tall above the finger

Size: 5 (free sizing)

Diamonds: All diamonds assessed in their mounting by a GIA GD—weights and grades are approximate and determined as mounting permits

Center: approx. .52 carat late Old European Cut diamond with approx. H color and VS2-SI1 clarity

Accents: six Single Cut diamonds (.08 ctw., est.); approx. near colorless and ranging VS though SI clarity (VS clarity overall)
