Early Art Deco Colombian Emerald and Diamond Ring with Tulip Shoulders

Period: c. 1910s-early 1920s; late Edwardian / early Art Deco; the shoulders are adored with open-metal tulips

Materials: platinum; emerald; diamonds

Dimensions: the top of the ring measures 14.00 mm wide north to south; the ring stands approx. 4.50 mm tall above the finger

Size: 7 3/4 (free sizing)

Gemstones: (purchase includes a GIA Emerald Origin Report)

Center: GIA-assessed rectangular step cut transparent green natural emerald; Colombian origin; no indications of treatment; 6.67 x 5.95 x 3.67 mm [approx. .93 - 1.05 carat, estimated by formula]

Accents: (.70-.75 ctw., est.) twelve Old European / Transitional Cut diamonds, approx. near-colorless and VS clarity overall (note: the GIA report rather vaguely states about the diamonds, “…numerous near colorless old mine cuts.” The 'near colorless' tidbit is correct, but the stones are not, in our opinion, old miners.)
