Victorian Épaulette and Buttercup Engagement Ring

Period: c. 1890s-1900s

We adore this ring's subtle buttercup basket and its epaulet-adorned shoulders. Epaulets are the tasseled shoulder decorations on high-ranking officers' uniforms. Virtually unseen in contemporary jewelry, it was employed with some frequency in the Victorian era as an embodiment of elegance and regality.

Materials: 14K yellow gold; diamond

Size: 6 1/4 (free sizing)

Diamond: GIA certified .47 carat late old European cut / transitional cut diamond (classified round brilliant) with J color and SI1 clarity (this is a very clean SI1)
