Victorian Revival Newly Hand-Forged Gold and Silver Bypass Ring with Rose Cut Diamonds

Period and information: This is a new, hand-crafted piece fabricated via old school goldsmithing methods. It began by melting recycled gold into an ingot, rolling and hand-drawing it into wire, and then working said wire into the shapes required for the final design. The baskets were fabricated by hand carving wax into the needed shapes and then creating silver castings. Once assembled, the ring had milgrain applied and the shoulders grooved out via hand tooling. An earthy patina was applied to the gold via bushy flame.

This ring was designed and fabricated as a sort of “artist’s study” for a larger version (which has yet to be crafted). It was also designed to be part of a ring, necklace, and earring set. A friend liked the "study" necklace so much that he bought it before we had a chance to create the larger version. And while we crafted two sets of the earrings, one of the sets has already sold. Ditto for a solitaire version of this bypass. The series was thus a victim of its own success, and we now have only this ring and one of the smaller earring sets available (yet Shauna has "borrowed" the second set of earrings, basically leaving only this ring available for now).
