c. 1930s Art Deco Engagement Ring with Graduated Channel Shoulders

Period: c. 1930s most likely, but possibly early 1950s; Art Deco in design, though it anticipates clean and classic Mid-Century pieces

Materials: platinum; diamonds

Marks: the piece is stamped with a stylized L within a lozenge (maker unknown); the ring has an early serial number, #37083, which seems to have been stamped one digit at a time, as befits the period

Dimensions: the ring measures approximately. 5.3 mm wide north to south; the ring stands 4.5 mm tall above the finger

Diamonds: all diamonds assessed in their mounting by a GIA GD—weights and grades are approximate and determined as mounting permits
     Center: .39 carat (est.) late Transitional Cut / early Round Brilliant Cut diamond with approx. F-G color and VS1-VS2 clarity
