Early 1900s Gold and Platinum Ring with Calibré Cut Sapphires and an Old European Cut Diamond Center

Origin: France (most likely Paris); c. 1910s-1920s; late Victorian / early Art Deco design

Stamps: The ring bears the French eagle—denoting 18K, with Paris as the most likely origin—as well as a lozenge-shaped maker’s mark (identity unknown). 

Materials: 18K gold; platinum; sapphires; diamond

Dimensions: The face measures 14 mm north-to-south; the ring stands 4 mm tall above the finger

Size: 7 3/4 (free sizing between US 5 and 8 1/2)

Stones:

    Center: GIA certified .78 carat Old European Cut diamond (H color; VS2 clarity)

    Accents: fourteen Calibré Cut earth-mined sapphires
